Intellectual Disability Mental Health First Aid Manual

     (1.9M)
This manual is for people working in human services who are aware of the standard Mental Health First Aid course and those working in or associated with disability services. The purpose of this manual is to provide guidance on how to support people with an intellectual disability who are experiencing difficulties associated with mental health problems. There is also information in the manual that will help those with little or no experience interacting with someone who has an intellectual disability. This manual builds on the information given in the Mental Health First Aid Manual, specifically taking into account the difficulties and needs of the person with an intellectual disability. It thereby makes the Mental Health First Aid approach available to those who work with and encounter a person with intellectual disability.
