Behaviour Support in Schools

View the 2017 Obudsman Inquiry into behaviour management in schools. This report focuses on issues concerning students with complex needs and challenging behaviour. The report discusses the difficult challenges that schools face, but also draws attention to reasonable steps that can and should be taken to meet the learning and support needs of students, within a framework of best practice and evidence-based behaviour support.

The Right Foot Project

DirtyFeet is excited to present The Right Foot Project- contemporary dance workshops for people with and without disability. Flyer available here.

In September 2012, DirtyFeet is presenting “The Right Foot Project”- workshops for people with and without disability. The workshops are supported by the Ian Potter Foundation, the City of Sydney and Accessible Arts.

Led by experienced dance maker Sarah-Vyne Vassallo, the workshops will develop a small creative dance work over two days. Dancers will explore new devised movement within a collaborative environment.

When: Saturday 22 and 29 September

Time: 10am - 1.30pm - Both days. Sharing 29 September 1pm

Where: Redfern Town Hall. 73 Pitt St, Redfern. Close to central train station (accessible) and Redfern train station.

Access: Open to all levels of ability 12-26 years. Suitable for low to moderate support needs. Accessible lift and toilet. Street parking

Intellectual Disability Forum Sydney 15 November 2012

Les White and Maria Heaton, Co-Chairs of the ACI Intellectual Disability (ID) Network, would like to invite all Network members and interested people to the annual Intellectual Disability Forum.

The ID Network includes people from a wide range of interest. Come and hear what the subcommittees have been achieving, the work of the Tier 4 pilots and share your ideas on where we are heading from here.

The Forum will be opened by The Hon. Jillian Skinner, Minister for Health and Minister for Medical Research. Guest Speaker is Professor Eric Emerson.
